Help us do something Great

On September 10th 2022, I will be attempting to ride 97 miles and climb 10,000 ft from Vancouver to Whistler, in the RBC Grandfondo. I set myself this challenge a year ago, when I decided to get back on my bike and get back into shape. I need goals, reasons and dreams to get me going. With Covid and my compromised immune system, I had switched off and put on weight. I had forgotten the wake up call I had been given back in 2017, that led to my life- changing ride from LA to Boston (read about that ride here). This time, I am focused on not just a single ride but many rides over several years. These epic rides will help keep me on track for better health, a longer life and hopefully a lot of fun.

I continue to be focused on raising awareness and funds for the International Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation (IWMF). The IWMF who work to find a cure for my disease. It is important to me that I earn your donations, which is why I’ve set out to take on epic and tough challenges. The RBC Grandfondo is one such epic challenge. Only 500 of the more than 5,000 cyclists taking part will be attempting to complete what is known as the ‘Forte’. Since 2014, only 950 cyclists have finished and made it into the Forte Hall of Fame. I hope to add my name to this list.

I will give everything I have to get up this mountain for my fellow patients and as a thank you for your donation.

If you wish to donate and help us I thank you and know all funds will be going to research to find a cure for WM. As importantly, we want to grow our audience to reach more people and raise more funds. Please spread the word as wide as you can for us and the IWMF.

Climbing will always be a challenge for me. I found with my Ride Across America, I was driven on knowing so many people were rooting for me. Knowing I am not alone and am doing something positive for others is all the fuel I need to get from Vancover to Whistler..

Onwards and Upwards.
Spread the word.
Help us do something great.
